Former 'Dance Moms' Star Abby Lee Miller to Report to Federal Prison for Concealing Assets in Bankruptcy Case
Former "Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller is scheduled to report to federal prison Wednesday in Victorville, Calif., the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported yesterday. She was sentenced in Pittsburgh in May to serve a year and one day for concealing assets from U.S. bankruptcy court and sneaking cash into the country after dance instruction trips to Australia. Miller, the former star of the Lifetime TV show "Dance Moms," was allowed to self-report to the prison in California because it is near one of her homes there. U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti said at the sentencing that she felt compelled to lock up Miller rather than give her the probation term she, her lawyer and a courtroom of supporters wanted. The judge said the sentence reflects a need to enforce respect for the bankruptcy process, the federal judiciary and the law.
