Bankruptcy Judge Cecelia G. Morris of the Southern District of New York will retire on Jan. 31, 2024, Bloomberg Law reported. In addition to presiding over many notable chapter 11 cases, Judge Morris has handled the lingering fallout from the historic Ponzi scheme perpetrated through Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities. For the past few years, she’s overseen a trustee’s clawback litigation that has been proceeding since Madoff defrauded thousands of customers out of billions of dollars through the investment advisory side of his now-defunct firm.
