The ABI Mediation Committee’s “Look Ahead to 2023” presentation began with a summary of the Committee focus areas, an introduction to Committee leadership and highlights of the benefits of committee membership, such as our active listserv discussions, opportunities to write for our newsletter, and networking events at ABI conferences throughout the country. The Committee described our 2023 scheduled events including the Live version of “Dear Connor & Ed” webinar and our ASM panel titled The Many Roles of a Neutral In Bankruptcy featuring Ken Feinberg and retired Judge Barbara Houser, as well as committee members Sylvia Mayer and Ed Schnitzer. The presentation wrapped up with a discussion of some of the areas we saw mediation play a large role in bankruptcies in 2022 and where we expect to see mediation serve as a useful tool in the bankruptcy context in 2023.
