7, 2020, Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Peter R. Morrison of Squire Patton Boggs (U.S.) LLP (Cleveland) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special virtual ceremony on February 18, 2021.

Morrison has a broad and versatile corporate, litigation and finance practice built on extensive experience representing and counseling clients in the corporate insolvency, distressed lending and investing, restructuring and bankruptcy contexts, including in complex chapter 11 cases throughout the country. His clients include debtors, creditors’ committees, and secured and unsecured creditors in reorganizations and liquidations nationwide. Morrison also represents receivers and secured creditors in receiverships and foreclosure proceedings. He has significant bankruptcy litigation experience centered on the prosecution and defense of preference actions, fraudulent transfers, dischargeability contests, declaratory judgment actions, director and officer liability suits and tax litigation. Morrison has been consistently recognized in Ohio Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” after being selected by his peers as a top up-and-coming Ohio lawyer 40 years of age or younger, or in the practice of law for less than 10 years. He received his J.D. cum laude from Case Western Reserve University in 2009 and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2004.

“Accomplished in both their careers and communities, the 2020 class of honorees is an inspiration for the future of the insolvency community,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to collaborating with this diverse collection of young leaders in the full range of ABI's activities to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
