Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) announces that Jennifer Meyerowitz of Summit Investment Management LLC (Atlanta) has been elected to ABI’s Board of Directors. An ABI member since 2005, Meyerowitz chairs ABI's “40 Under 40” Steering Committee, and is a member of the advisory boards for ABI’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop and Caribbean Insolvency Symposium, and she participates on six ABI Membership Committees and is a frequent speaker at ABI events. She will serve a term of three years on the 60-member ABI Board of Directors.
Meyerowitz is the managing director of Business Development at Summit Investment Management LLC, where her responsibilities include business development, deal-sourcing, marketing and underwriting. Her experience in bankruptcy, restructuring and advisory services spans almost 20 years, and she has served as an attorney, consultant and company leader in the industry. Prior to joining Summit, Meyerowitz led the bankruptcy and restructuring group at Garden City Group, managing both the sales and operations teams. She began her career as a practicing attorney at Alston & Bird LLP, where she represented debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, banks and trustees in complex workouts, debt restructurings, commercial litigation and chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
Meyerowitz earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1999 and her B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1995. She is also active in several industry organizations, including the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA). She currently serves on the Boards of AIRA and TMA, and she is a former chair of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, as well as a former chair and co-founder of its Georgia network.
