Alexandria, Va.— ABI announces that Brian Koenig of Koley Jessen P.C., L.L.O. (Omaha, Neb.) has been selected for ABI’s “40 Under 40,” recognizing 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. This year’s awardees will be formally recognized at ABI’s 2018 Winter Leadership Conference, taking place Dec. 6-8 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Koenig is a shareholder and the vice chair of the Litigation Department at Koley Jessen P.C., L.L.O., where he counsels clients in commercial bankruptcy and high-stakes litigation matters, serves on the firm’s Associate and Finance Committees, and leads the bankruptcy practice at the 70-attorney firm. He is the trusted bankruptcy counsel in proceedings throughout the country for multiple publicly traded companies, private-equity firms, and privately held businesses related to all things bankruptcy. He is also a frequent author and lecturer on bankruptcy topics.
Previously, Koenig clerked for Justice John F. Wright on the Nebraska Supreme Court. He graduated from Creighton University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Creighton Law Review.
Koenig sits on a number of nonprofit boards and recently was selected to participate in Leadership Omaha, a leadership-development program organized by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. Koenig also volunteers his time as an assistant high school football coach.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted via the initiative’s website, through which professionals nominated themselves or a colleague. Membership in ABI was not required, and more than 200 candidates were evaluated. Those selected were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, accounting, consulting, academia, government and more.
