Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) announces that Mark G. Stingley of Bryan Cave LLP (Kansas City, Mo.) has been named to a two-year term as ABI Vice President-Membership. An ABI member since 1988 and a member of the ABI Board of Directors, Stingley is on the advisory committee of ABI’s Midwest Bankruptcy Conference, and has been a frequent speaker at ABI programs, an author of numerous articles for the ABI Journal and an active member of ABI’s Business Reorganization and Secured Credit Committees.
Stingley is a member of the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights and Commercial Litigation Client Service Groups at Bryan Cave LLP in its Kansas City, Mo., office. He additionally serves as litigation coordinator of its Commercial Litigation Client Service Group. Stingley represents lending institutions in the areas of litigation and insolvency, as well as debtors in workout and bankruptcy-related matters. In addition, he has represented a number of commercial and lending clients in real estate and commercial litigation cases in both state and federal courts in several jurisdictions. Stingley was previously an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law and co-authored a chapter on composition agreements in Thomson West’s upcoming book Non-Bankruptcy Alternatives. Named a “Super Lawyer” in Missouri, he is also annually listed in Kansas City’s “Best of the Bar” and in The Best Lawyers in America. He received his J.D. from University of Missouri at Kansas City and his B.S. from William Jewell College.
