Alexandria, Va. —The American Bankruptcy Institute's (ABI) 18th annual New York City Bankruptcy Conference is scheduled for May 12 at the New York Hilton in Midtown Manhattan. The day-long conference brings together a faculty of New York-area bankruptcy judges with practitioners from the top national insolvency firms in New York City to discuss top bankruptcy issues. The conference features a special luncheon panel titled “How Can Puerto Rico Restructure Its Debt Obligations and Return Its Economy to Growth?” with experts discussing strategies for Puerto Rico to right-size its debt obligations. Additionally, a judges’ roundtable featuring a panel of bankruptcy judges from the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York will discuss current bankruptcy case developments.

- Ethics Panel: Current Issues in the Retention and Compensation of Bankruptcy Professionals
Approval for 6.75 hours of CLE credit, including 1.25 hours of ethics, is pending in states calculating CLE on a 60-minute hour, and approval for 8 hours of CLE credit, including 1.5 hours of ethics, is pending in 50-minute-hour states.
Timothy Graulich of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Sean A. Gumbs of FTI Consulting, Inc. and David I. Pauker are the program chairs for the conference. Bankruptcy Judge Shelley C. Chapman (S.D.N.Y.) serves as the judicial chair.
