the
Auto Supplier Insolvencies &
Bankruptcies: Issues for Suppliers and Customers of Financially Troubled
Auto Suppliers
manual,
a new publication providing strategies for buyers and sellers in the
auto supply chain both prior and subsequent to a supplier's bankruptcy
filing. The manual was written by the Creditors' Rights Department of
Barnes & Thornburg LLP and edited by Prof. James J. White of the
University of Michigan Law School.

The timely manual features
suggestions for legal strategies related to auto supplier insolvency,
including discussions of:

  • Article 2 of the Uniform
Commercial Code as it relates to automotive suppliers and
    customers
  • Accommodation
    agreements
  • Access and security
    agreements
  • Parts banks
  • Special tooling lien acts for
cases prior to and after the implementation of the Bankruptcy Abuse
Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.

Auto equipment
manufacturing concerns have been under financial stress due to high fuel
prices and competitive pressures.
