The Securities and Exchange Commission announced yesterday that Vincente L. Martinez will run the Office of Market Intelligence, the New York Times DealBook blog reported yesterday. The unit was a central feature of the SEC's makeover in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Known at the agency as the "point guard" of the enforcement division, the office harvests tips, opens investigations and assigns cases to enforcement lawyers.
