PROFESSOR JACK F. WILLIAMS RETURNS TO SERVE AS
w:st='on'>ABI RESIDENT SCHOLAR

Prof. Jack F. Williams, Professor of Law at Georgia State
University College of Law, returns to serve as the Robert M. Zinman
ABI Resident Scholar
throughout 2008. Prof. Williams is the first academic to serve twice in
the role; he was the inaugural ABI Resident Scholar when the ABI
Endowment Fund created the program in 2001. Prof. Williams will serve in

ABI's
w:st='on'>Alexandria,
w:st='on'>Va., office, assisting

w:st='on'>ABI with its educational programming and in
its role as the authoritative source of bankruptcy information for the
Congress, media and public.

Prof. Williams teaches at
Georgia State University College of Law, where he instructs an
assortment of courses, including Advanced Bankruptcy Seminar, Bankruptcy

and Insolvency Taxation, Business Bankruptcy,
size='2'>Commercial Law (Lending and Payment Systems) and Federal, State

and Local Income Taxation. A member of
w:st='on'>Georgia
w:st='on'>State’s faculty since 1991, Williams has

been selected as one of the top 10 bankruptcy academics and one of the
top 10 bankruptcy accounting and taxation specialists in the
w:st='on'>United
States. He also teaches at the New York

Law School LL.M. Program in Taxation , the New York University School of

Law Continuing Professional Education Program for the Internal Revenue
Service, and the
w:st='on'>Federal
w:st='on'>Law
w:st='on'>Enforcement
w:st='on'>Training
w:st='on'>Center.  Prof. Williams has
previously taught at the University of Georgia School of Law,
w:st='on'>St. John’s
w:st='on'>University
w:st='on'>School of Law in the LL.M. program and the
Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in
w:st='on'>New York.

Prof. Williams currently serves

as a member of the Advisory Board for the ABI’s Law Review
and is a director for BDO Seidman, LLP (

w:st='on'>New York). Prof.
Williams also serves as the Resident Scholar of the Association of
Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and also as a member of the
academic board of the Journal of Corporate Renewal, and he is an
instructor with the National Association of Credit Managers. He has held

positions as the Dean of Faculty for the American Board of
Certification, Chairman of the Tax Advisory Committee for the National
Bankruptcy Review Commission and judicial law clerk for Judge William J.

Holloway (Chief
Judge,
w:st='on'>U.S. Court of Appeals for the

10th Circuit).  Recently, Prof. Williams was
appointed by the Governor of Georgia to serve as a Board Member on the
Children and Youth Coordinating Council.

Williams received his
Bachelor’s degree in economics from the
w:st='on'>University of
w:st='on'>Oklahoma in 1982 and his J.D. from the
National
w:st='on'>Law
w:st='on'>Center at
w:st='on'>George
w:st='on'>Washington
w:st='on'>University in 1985. He is the
author, co-author, or contributing author of such books as Volumes 1
and 2: Kennedy, Countryman and Williams on Partnerships, Limited
Liability Entities and S Corporations in Bankruptcy; McQueen
& Williams on Tax Aspects of Bankruptcy Law and Practice (3d
ed.);  2005 Bankruptcy Revisions: Implications for Business
